Al Fattah

Al Fattah is a kind of sweet made of wheat flour and white flour. It can be served and accompanied to hot meals especially at lunch in Arab Countries.

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 cups of warm water
  • 2 ½ cups of white flour
  • 1 ½ cups of wheat flour
  • 3 tbsp. of yellow ghee
  • 10-12 pieces of dates
  • 2-3 tbsp. of honey
  • 1 tbsp. of salt

PREPARATION

  1. Place the white and wheat flour in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Add the salt with the warm water and knead until it becomes dough.
  3. Mix well to form dough and adding more water if required.
  4. Knead on a floured surface for 5 minutes or until smooth.
  5. Divide into 4-6 pieces and roll out rounds into 2 inches.
  6. Apply onto rounds yellow ghee and again bring to dough by kneading.
  7. Then once more roll out rounds into thin shapes.
  8. Place the dough rounds onto a frying pan and grill both sides about 5 min until it turns to brownish color.
  9. Then chop each piece of broiled dough together with 4 pieces of dates, removing the seeds in mixer machine and continuously repeat all of them.
  10. Finally put all together in a large bowl mixing with honey.
  11. Serves for 3-4 people.
