Kheer is a traditional South Asian sweet dish, made by boiling rice or broken wheat with milk and sugar, and flavoured with cardamoms, raisins, saffron, pistachios or almonds.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup Basmati rice or 1/2 cup Rice Powder
  • 1 cup condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon custard powder, dissolved in some warm milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 cups of whole milk, with 1 cup water
  • Sum chopped pistachios / almonds
  • 1 tsp crushed cardamom

PREPARATION

  1. Boil the rice in the milk on a medium flame until the rice is cooked.
  2. Make sure you stir frequently; otherwise your milk may burn at the bottom.
  3. Keep Stirring and Add the condensed milk, sugar, and nuts. Stir till the sugar dissolves and the mixture thickens.
  4. Add the cardamom and stir..
  5. Serve either cold or fresh off the stove!!!
  6. It is delicious both ways :) !!!
