This dish has all the ingredients you need for a healthy and balanced meal. This can be served with rice, preferably basmati rice because of its delicate fragrance and makes a nice addition to a big family feast that kids and adults can both enjoy.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 whole chicken, cut into 4 serving pieces
  • 2 cups green peas
  • 3 medium carrots, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 small green bell pepper, seeded and chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cardamom
  • 4 cups water
  • Salt (optional)

PREPARATION

  1. Season chicken with chili pepper and cardamom then place in a medium pot with 1/2 cup water, bring to a boil and simmer for 15 minuets.
  2. Add 1/2 cup water, green bell pepper, and garlic, stirring continuously for 15-20 minuets.
  3. Add peas and carrots and cook over moderate heat.
  4. Add tomato paste and 3 cups water then bring to a boil and simmer while stirring.
  5. Serve and enjoy.
