English Cheese Bread

This is simple bread, goes wonderfully with soup and rich tomato sauces, it can be served as side dish or / and appetizer. When it cooked the bread will puff up a little, the cheese will melt, and it will smell wonderful. Try it and enjoy the great taste.

SERVES : [ 4 ] People

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/4 cup plain flour
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • warm water

PREPARATION

  1. Mix the first 6 ingredients together, blend in the water to form a smooth dough. Allow to rest for 15 minutes.
  2. Divide into four or you can make the mix into balls.
  3. Heat a flat griddle pan or frying pan, place the divided mixture onto the pan. Allow to brown before turning, once the underside is browned turn the heat as low as possible, allow the bread to sit warmly for a few moments to ensure it is cooked through. The bread will puff up a little, the cheese will melt, it will smell wonderful
  4. Be careful not to burn it. Serve warm.
