On of Iraqi desserts that admired with many people despite of its unattractive ingredients and external appearance. This recipe doesn't have any kind of cream, fruit or chocolate, only flour and powdered milk in primary. Try it and enjoy the great taste.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup powdered milk
  • 3/4 cup corn oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon crushed cardamom
  • Hot syrup (1 cup sugar + 1 cup water+teaspoon lemon juice)
  • Fried almond for garnish

PREPARATION

  1. Combine flour, powdered milk, cornstarch and crushed cardamom into deep cooking pot, place over medium heat and stir continuously for 5 minutes until the color get golden light.
  2. Add corn oil to the pot and stir continuously for 3 minutes, add syrup and stir quickly for 1 minutes until the dough is tender.
  3. Pour the dough into flat plate and garnish with fried almond and let it to cool down. Put into the fridge and serve cold.

NOTICE

Preparing syrup:-
In a cooking pot add 1 cup of sugar, 1 teaspoon of lemon juice and 1 cup of water, stirring well and bring to boil over moderate heat until the sugar is fully melted.
