Eggless Tiramisu

Submitted By: Sharmeen Saleem - Canada

Italian cuisine

Originally tiramisu is one of the most popular Italian desserts. It is made of savoiardi biscuits dipped in coffee and mascarpone cream. The name Tiramisu is Italian and means "pull-me-up" (Tirami su), a reference to the effects of the sugar and espresso.

TIMING

SERVES : [ 0 ] People

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/4 espresso, strongly brewed or you can use regular coffee
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • Sugar as per taste
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 8 oz mascarpone cheese at room temperature
  • 1 pack ladyfingers
  • Cocoa powder for garnish

PREPARATION

  1. Whip cream with sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form. Gently fold cream with mascarpone. Dip a ladyfinger in the espresso and layer the bottom of any dish. Spread with some filling.
  2. Repeat with remaining ladyfingers by dipping in espresso & spreading with filling.
  3. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for a good 8 -10 hours before serving. I usually leave it overnite...like i bake this before hitting the bed...so that it has good time to chill.
  4. Just before serving dust some cocoa powder.
