INGREDIENTS
(For the dough)
1 kg all-purpose flour
pinch of salt
300 ml boiling water
(Form the dough)
Ground beef
chopped onions
Chopped mushroom
Butter
Salt
Pepper
PREPARATION
Mix the dough ingredients and knead till you form the dough. Cover to use later.
Sauté meat in butter till almost fully cooked, sauté the onion. Add mushrooms, salt and pepper. Let mixture cool before using.
Spread the dough with a rolling pin and cut circles shapes. Fill each with the meat mixture and close.
(Cooking pierogi)
Bring a large pot of salted water to boil.
Gently place a few pierogi in boiling water (do not cook more than a few pierogi at a time). Boil, stirring occasionally with a wooden spoon to keep them from sticking to the bottom.
When the pierogi are floating on the surface let them cook 2 minutes more. Be careful to not to overcook them. 4. Remove ready pierogi with a slotted spun or skimmer.
Top with chopped browned onion with butter Serve immediately.
